We have stocked our shelves with everything you need to make your Thanksgiving a feast to remember. Cheese and charcuterie plates are a great way to kick off the meal. Call us at 206.682.0679 or reply to this e-mail us to place an order! We’ve got recipes and ingredients for Chorizo and Leek Stuffing. Not serving turkey? We are stocked up on duck confit and dried beans for cassoulet or stews. We have Paella ingredients, pans, and outdoor burners for cooking it. And, we have loads of seasonal sweet treats.
Thanksgiving Wines: We’ve assembled a holiday six-pack of French and Spanish wines, value-priced at $58.50 including tax, 10% wine discount and a cheerful 6 bottle, cloth wine tote bag. The six-pack includes a French Chenin Blanc, a dry rosé from Corsica, a French pinot noir, a Spanish Tempranillo, a hearty Portuguese red, and an aged Tempranillo-Cabernet Sauvignon.
Le Beaujolais nouveau est arrive! 2017 Domaine Dupueble Beaujolais Nouveau ($18.99) is a joyous, fruity and fresh wine, and an excellent choice to serve with turkey. The Beaujolais Nouveau style is a young, bright and easy-drinking red wine from the current harvest, which by French law cannot be released until the third Thursday of November. Happily, this coincides perfectly with Thanksgiving! There are many producers of Beaujolais Nouveau, and some make a product more akin to soda pop than wine, so make sure to choose a winery with a dependable track record. Dupueble is a top choice, as their wines are made naturally with whole cluster fermentation resulting from native and wild yeasts, no pasteurization, no filtration, and nothing else added. The Wine Advocate a few years ago says all you need to know about Domaine Dupueble, and it might be even more relevant today than it was then: “If the oceans of frothy purple Beaujolais that once used to lap our shores each November had come even remotely close to this level, they would have enhanced, not tarnished the reputation of a region.”
Zabala Basque cider: We’ve added a new Basque cider to our selection. Zabala is made in a clean and lighter style, which is different from a typical hearty and sometimes funky (in a good way) Basque cider. We’ve got both versions in stock now, along with Asturian cider, and sparkling French ciders from Normandy.
Warres 1994 vintage port ($119.00) 1994 was a legendary port vintage, and Warre’s has just released a new lot from their cellars. Having a glass of port on a blustery day, just seems right. “Displays fabulous concentration and complex character with its layers of very sweet fruit, chocolate and cherry aromas and flavors. Full-bodied, with velvety tannins. Long finish with plenty of grip. Beautiful wine. Best after 2008.” 95 points Wine Spectator
A new release of Kopke Colheita Tawny ports is here! We’ve got the largest selection of vintages around because they are fascinating, superb, and they make fantastic gifts. The prices range from inexpensive to higher-priced for older vintages. And exceptional vintages come in impressive wooden gift boxes. Call us at 206.682.0679 or reply to this e-mail if you’re looking for a special vintage.
