We provide $3.00 parking validation coupons redeemable at the Pike Place Market Parking garage, 1531 Western Avenue, with purchases of $10.00 or more at Paris-Madrid Grocery.
Vermouth (called Vermut, in Spain) has been a traditional aperitif since 1892. Originating in Reus, near Tarragona in Catalonia, it is now produced all over Spain, and is in its heyday right now! On our May trip to Barcelona, we passed bar after bar, serving vermouth from the barrel, and from bottles made in all parts of Spain. Each producer has their own secret combination of botanicals, herbs and wine in their house blend. You’ll want to taste an assortment, to find a favorite. Traditionally served chilled with a slice of orange, or olives, it is excellent with boquerones, potato chips, or any other salty foods. It’s also delicious in cocktails.
