Stop in tomorrow Saturday, July 27 from 2-4 p.m. at Paris-Madrid Grocery for a free tasting of fantastic Chilean natural wines. Francisca Brava, owner of Ambrosia Chilena wines will be in our shop, explaining her producers’ sustainable winemaking, philosophy and terroir. Ambrosia Chilena’s wines are light years ahead of the mass-market Chilean brands that are sold in supermarkets and box stores but still represent incredible values. We’ll be sampling four wines: Mako Sauvignon Blanc, a creamy and crisp white, excellent with seafood; Andes Plateau Cota 500, a Cabernet Sauvignon red blend; Blu, a Carignan-Syrah red blend, and Clos de Luz: Massal 1945, Carmenere. Pair the red wines with burgers or anything cooked on the barbeque.
In August we are planning two events:
Saturday, August 3 from 1:00-4:00 p.m. Paella cooking demonstration and Galician wine tasting ($10.00). Some of you were disappointed to miss the earlier paella cooking demo, so we’re doing another! Arrive at 1:00 p.m. to watch the complete paella being made. By 2:00 p.m. the paella will be done and samples available, and the wine tasting will begin. Tickets can be purchased in advance by calling the shop with credit card information (206.682.0679); no refunds but the ticket can be transferred to another person.
Saturday, August 17 from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. John Cancilla of Bodega y Almazara Marqués de Valdueza in southern Spain will be in Seattle and in our shop to discuss and sample the exceptional products produced on their estate, including extra virgin olive oils, honey, and wines.
