TWO GREAT WINES:
Envidiacochina Albariño, Rias Baixas 2018 ($23.99)  Albariño and white wine fans, if you didn’t get to our in-store tasting last Saturday, pick up a bottle of this.  Winemaker Eladio Pineiro has been making his wines biodynamically for the last 8 years and the Envidiacochina is 100% Albariño from 30-year-old vines.  Aged 6 months on the lees, with weekly battonage, it is incredibly fresh and elegant with balanced acidity.  Unctuous and rich from aging on the lees, it is shot throughout with bright minerality.   Hands down, everyone’s favorite wine of the tasting!

Finca Villacreces Pruno, Ribera del Duero 2014 ($16.99)  SALE, normally $19.99.  This is a wine that never disappoints.  90% Tempranillo and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, aged 12 months in neutral French oak.  It’s a classic expression of Ribera del Duero, with concentrated black fruit notes, hints of vanilla, graphite and supreme elegance.  “Plum and boysenberry flavors are ripe and juicy in this plump red. Notes of tar and mineral impart a savory aspect while firm tannins and acidity lend focus.”  90 points Wine Spectator

Mark your calendar!  On Saturday, August 17, John Cancilla from Bodegas Valdueza will be in our store from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.   Stop by to taste the excellent honeys, extra virgin olive oils and wines from their estate in southern Spain.
