WINE ARRIVALS:
Domaine Buillat Les Lutins Beaujolais Nouveau 2021 ($17.99) While generally a classic wine to serve at Thanksgiving, this is the year of shipping delays and our pre-ordered Nouveau came in a month late. But as producer Domaine Buillat makes seriously good Beaujolais wines, including Nouveau, we not only took our full order, we took an extra case from a retailer who didn’t want it. The 2021 Les Lutins is juicy and fresh, with notes of cherry and a bit of spice. It’s lower in alcohol than many red wines and is a perfect wine to serve with a variety of foods. The Les Lutins will continue to improve with additional aging, so buy extra bottles to lay down and enjoy over the coming months. It’s also a fun choice for Christmas, as the red and white stockings on the label practically shout “Santa Claus!”
Grahams Single Harvest Tawny Port 1994 ($143.00) The 1994 Single Harvest Tawny was blended from outstanding casks of this legendary vintage. This would be a memorable treat on its own or pair it with dried fruit and nuts or spice cake. “Toasted sesame, caramel, hazelnut & cinnamon notes lead the way, backed by a caressing feel on the finish, as sandalwood, golden raisin, and bergamot accents chime in. Shows refinement throughout. 94 points Wine Spectator
Best wishes for a healthy, safe, and happy holiday!
