Paris Madrid Grocery PicnicNew picnic foods arrive:  Gather a few friends at the park and enjoy dining alfresco with these portable and delicious foods:
Jose Gourmet Codfish Pate with Parsley:  If  you’ve been to Portugal, you’ve probably enjoyed this classic flavor combination of bacalou (cod), onion, parsley and spices.  The chickpeas in this mix make it even more delicious.
Jose Gourmet Cuttlefish in Ink with Shrimp Pate:  25% Cuttlefish in its ink, 25% Shrimp in a mayonnaise, wine and tomato base are combined in a seafood delight that is perfect on a cracker.
Brillat FraisLe Pico soft ripened goat cheese comes in a 3.5 oz wheel.  Made from pasteurized goats milk, Le Pico is spreadable and fresh with a slight tang and creamy texture.
Brillat Savarin Frais in individual wheels –  this triple crème cow milk cheese is 72% fat, made with the addition of crème fraiche. Ultra-rich, it is luscious with a velvety smooth texture and subtle tang.  Excellent with fresh fruit and honey.
Majerero goat cheese with Pimenton – A semi-cured goat cheese from the Canary Islands.  The free-range goats graze on wild marjoram which lend an underlying complexity to the flavor.  Sweet, a touch nutty, creamy and chalky with a mild paprika flavor.  This cheese looks gorgeous too, with its brick colored rind and ivory interior.  A World Cheese Award winner.

NEW! Ines Rosales single-serve torta crackers:  For a quick snack, the original sweet olive oil torta now comes individually wrapped.  Made with olive oil, sugar, anise and sesame seeds, it is great with coffee or tea.

WINE CORNER:
Fiou Sancerre Rosé 2022, Loire Valley ($26.99)  It’s still summer and Fiou Sancerre rosé just arrived!  100% Pinot Noir, one of the few examples of Sancerre Rosé to come from silex soil.  From a single-vineyard of old-vines this bottle offers up vibrant cherry fruit notes and is as mineral-rich as you’ll find.

Muga Seleccion EspecialMuga Reserva Especial Rioja 2018 ($50.00)   This time of year, I tend to drink lighter, chilled wines such as rosé or a refreshing Portuguese white wine such as Asnella.  But last week in Montana, our family treated us to marinated and grilled flank steak which cried out for a red wine.  Muga Reserva Especial was the perfect wine with the flavorful steak.  Bright, fresh, full-bodied with elegant layers of blackberry fruit, clove and vanilla.  Incredibly complex, it has bright acidity, polished tannins and medium body.  70% Tempranillo, 20% Garnacha, and the rest Graciano y Mazuelo. fermented with indigenous yeasts, aged 26 months in oak vats.
