Store OpenWe will be open regular hours, 9:30 AM-5:30 PM every day through Wednesday, 1/31/24.   On February 1, the new buyers will take over and close the shop for a week or two to refresh the spaceThe buyers are the owners of The Harvest Vine Restaurant  If you aren’t familiar with this restaurant, you must dine there!  We are thrilled to have this venerable, Spanish/Basque-focused restaurant taking over.  The owners Tom and Carolin will be running the store, and they plan to continue with the same product mix.

It will be a bittersweet ending.  I am retiring along with Mercedes, and we’re delighted that the shop will continue in the world’s best hands, but I will miss seeing and talking with customers, staff and venders.  Thank you all for the amazing support over the years beginning in 1995 with the first Spanish Table store.  Many of you were customers in the original store; what a great community has grown up around a love for the incredible cuisines and wines of Spain, France and Portugal.

Duck fatBut we haven’t stopped bringing in great products.  Just arrived today:  Individual 3 1/2-pound tubs of pure duck fat.  If you often simmer or fry potatoes in duck fat, you need one of these!  Also, smaller portions of duck fat are available as in the past.   This brand’s duck fat needs to be kept frozen, but it softens up in about 20 minutes, ready for use.

Fermin Iberico Bellota SolomilloWe have Ibérico Pork Solomillo in stock.  These are uncured, frozen pork tenderloins made from Spain’s famous Pata Negra pig, also known as the Ibérico pig.  We’ve got 3 packages, each containing 2 pieces that will make a delectable meal, especially if served with potatoes cooked in duck fat and a bottle of red wine, such as Emilio Moro Tempranillo from Ribera del Duero.  To serve, simply thaw the meat, lightly season with salt and pepper, then grill or broil quickly to medium rare to preserve the succulent texture and flavor.
