All things PAELLA!
Join us this Saturday, September 14th for a paella demo and tasting, wine tasting, and sale of all of our paella pans, stoves, and select ingredients. Chef Joey Sequinia of our sister restaurant, The Harvest Vine, will begin cooking his mouth-watering chicken and chorizo paella at 11:30am in front of the shop. Portions of paella will be available for $5 a bowl beginning around 1pm. Joey will be sharing tips on sautéing, seasoning, and getting the rice to just the right texture.
On both Saturday and Sunday all paella pans, stoves, and accessory tools will be 15% off, and a selection of paella ingredients including rice, chorizo Bilbao, stocks, piquillo peppers, sofrito, and saffron will be 10% off. Sales limited to stock on hand.
We’re prepared with canopies, so this event will happen rain or shine. Come help us celebrate the final days of summer.
Free Wine Tasting on Friday
On Friday, September 13th, from 3:30-5:30, meet us in front of our wall of Riojas for a sampling of wines from local distributor, Grape Expectations. We’ll be pouring a crisp albariño from Galicia, and reds form Portugal, France, and Spain.
Free Wine Tasting on Saturday
On Saturday, September 14th we’ll be pouring even more wine! A garnatxa from Montsant, Spain, a cabernet franc from the Basque region of France, and a fresh Vinho Verde from Portugal will make up the trio of wines to take you from summer into fall.
Tinned Fish Tuesdays
We love the quality and variety of tinned fish and seafood harvested and conserved along the Mediterranean and Atlantic coasts. Most Tuesdays we open a different tin from our growing collection, photograph it, taste it, read up about it, and feature it on our Instagram page. This week we featured the smoked mussels from Patagonia Provisions.
Patagonia Provisions Smoked Mussels
in extra virgin olive oil + broth
Whole tender mussels in flavorful salty broth. The saltiness is beautifully paired with the natural smoky flavor.
How did Patagonia go from fleece to tinned fish?
In its effort to have a positive impact on our environment, Patagonia has paired with a like-minded, family run fishery and cannery to encourage folks to eat sustainable seafood.
Why Mussels?
Cultivated off the coasts of Spain and Portugal, our Mediterranean Mussels, they are responsibly harvested from family-owned farms, then steamed, smoked and sealed for freshest flavor. Patagonia is proud to support restorative aquaculture that improves water quality, creates habitat for other marine life and leaves a minimal carbon footprint. Smoked Mussels are an excellent source of vitamin B-12 and a good source of protein and iron.
